wow, we've had a few rough days this week.
It all started Saturday night. Molly thought it was a good idea to hold her breath for long periods of time and freak me out. I called my ever so patient dad and asked what to do since she was doing it a lot and then crying and freaking me out I should take her down to the ER to have her looked at, so, I burst into tears and called PJ at work (luckily he was only 15 mins from getting off) and I headed down to the ER. They checked her out, and we were sent home after 3 and a half hours. With the explantion that sometimes babies do that and they wouldn't be worried until her lips turn blue. My thought on that is "well, I don't want to wait until she is blue to take her down thanks". But she is ok and thats all that matters.
Then Monday night she developed a little bubble in her stomach, seriously one I could poke and push and actually see. It went away after about an hour, then Tuesday morning it was back. So down to Dr Johnson's we went (we had seen him Monday for a check up!). Turns out, she has a hernia. No joke! There is nothing for us to do, she's little enough it should heal on its own. The only down side to that is she might have an outie, not that thats bad, it's just the only "con" thing to not doing surgery. Poor baby!
Then yesterday. Yesterday is a day I would like to forget forever! It was a "lets scream for hours no matter what mom does to try and help me" day. It was AWFUL! I called my mom SOBBING and she just talked calmly to me and told me to go see PJ at work, luckily he was just going to lunch as we got there. He held her and got her all calmed. Then, we went home, she of course cried all the way home and for about 45 mins while at home until she fell asleep.
Thankfully PJ is the best husband ever and slept on the couch with her all night so I could get some sleep. She woke up only twice for him. PJ is awesome and I love him and I'm SO grateful for his awesomeness!
Needless to say, it's been a long few days, but as PJ pointed out last night, shes to dang cute to stay mad at! I love the little brat regardless of yesterday!

Well now Molly and Kyah have something more than just being cousins in common. Kyah had a hernia as well. She doesn't have an outie though... Sad days.
Sorry about the roughness of mommyhood. It does get better. I promise!
Poor Annie. I think this is where people are supposed to say "welcome to motherhood" :)
Hope she was a bit more cooperative today...
you crack me up Annie, Welcome to Motherhood. I couldny help but have flashbacks of my first Tyler holding hi breath and of course being a brand new Mommy I freaked out just as you did. Now that im on my third I slept right through the gasping for air cause I knew it was normal. their bodies havnt learned a rhythm for breathing yet.
Second, yet another flash back. my good friend Melissa Dr. Jonhson daughter-in-law had the same thing happen to her first boy. he developed a hernia but they actually had to do surgery on him when we was just a couple months old. so im glad shes gonna beat the odds for that we hope right. But there is a lot of fear that comes with a hernia so stay close to the spirit for inspiration for Mollys health. we as mothers are given special senses when it comes to our children.
And third Welcome to growth spurt one i sounds like it usually hits around 5-6 weeks. is that how old she is already. they seesm to always wake up at those week and just become grumps and hungry as ever. you poor girl. arnt husbands wonderful. im so glad that PJ gave you a much needed brake and good nights sleep. I know this all seems so overwhelming and exhausting but i swear you'll look back when youre on your third child and laugh at all this and find yourself happy the kid is alive and breathing everything else just seems so minute. love ya Annie.
too bad we don't live closer to eachother. i'd hold her and let you relax. even if she's crying.
Braelyn had a hernia too. It just made her belly button look like a huge outie and I didn't even know about it until her 2 week check up. It doesn't hurt them or anything and it will go away.
Im sorry you had a bad few days. On days like that, feel free to call me. You need to have friends around when you want to kill yourself or your child ( I know I have them all the time!) I would be happy to come over and hang.
