Core Humanities

In order to graduate from a University in Nevada with a Bachelor's degree one has to take THREE semesters of Core Humanities.
What is core humanities? No one really knows. It's a REALLY bad mix of English and History. English because you read a butt load and have to write papers and analyze authors and their work, History because we also look into the time frame of when such work was written. However, the professor can not go into much detail about anything to do with English or history because they are not those classes. So, lectures talk about the people we are reading about and briefly touch on whats going on in the real world ( i.e. French Revolution, Industrial Revolution..fun things like that...). Also, we cannot go over anything that has to do with English (i.e. grammar, rhetoric even more fun things like that...).
So, pretty much what you do for a whole semester is read a whole lot of crap, written by a whole lot of dead people (mostly men) and briefly talk about why they wrote what they wrote, and THEN you get to go home and write 2 papers, take 3 tests plus a final, and write 10 weekly assignments.
Needless to say I will NEVER use any of this information in my life. Whether I just get my BA in History, or go on to be a teacher or lawyer there will be NO need for the useless crap that some dead guy wrote a little over 100 years ago. Also, I truly hate this class and all that it stands for. AND! You have to get a C for it to count as a CH credit so you can graduate, not a C- at the very least a C
CORE HUMANITIES SUCKS ROYAL BUM.

oh, and the professor's name is Dr. Dworkin and yes he looks and sounds like something from Star Trek.
